Bellevue School District – Evergreen Transition Program
LPD Engineering is providing comprehensive civil engineering services for Bellevue School District’s new Evergreen Transition Program (ETP) facility in Bellevue, Washington. This transformative project encompasses four adjacent parcels totaling over 73,000 square feet, where a new 25,000-square-foot educational center will support young adults with disabilities ages 18-22 through experiential learning opportunities and life-skills programming. The project’s distinctive features include a two-story educational facility with specialized classroom and office spaces, an innovative outdoor roof garden, and sustainable geothermal wells beneath the parking area. The complex site development is being executed in strategic phases, beginning with the careful demolition of existing structures on two parcels while preserving foundations for future development, followed by the construction of the new facility with comprehensive site improvements.
Working closely with Sierra Martin Architects and environmental consultants, LPD Engineering brings its extensive experience in educational facility design to navigate the Administrative Conditional Use Permit process and complex site requirements. Our firm’s expertise in sustainable site development, stormwater management, and environmental protection has been crucial in developing solutions that maximize the site’s potential while meeting the District’s mission to prepare students for positive post-secondary outcomes. This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant investment in specialized education infrastructure that will serve as a vital community resource, fostering independence in employment, education/training, and life skills for young adults with disabilities in the Bellevue community. The project exemplifies LPD Engineering’s commitment to creating spaces that support inclusive education and enhance opportunities for all students to achieve their full potential.
